Plain version: we use basic analytics to understand what people read. We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

When you visit this site, normal server and browser information may be processed so the site can load, stay secure, and work properly. This can include technical details such as browser type, device type, referring page, approximate location, and pages viewed.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 helps us see which pages are read, how people move through the site, and which guides may need work. That is analytics, not mind reading. Still worth saying out loud.

Google Analytics 4 may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions. According to Google, GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses; IP data may be used to derive approximate location information before it is discarded.

Cookies

Analytics cookies help measure visits and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site should still be readable, because a soundproofing guide that needs analytics cookies to explain a door gap would be a bit much.

How we use data

We use analytics data to improve page structure, fix confusing guides, understand which topics people actually need, and spot technical problems. We do not use it to sell personal information.

Third-party services

Google Analytics is provided by Google. Google may process analytics data according to its own terms and privacy documentation. If we add other privacy-relevant services later, this page should be updated instead of pretending nothing changed.
